Suffering should be creative, should give birth to something good and to love

(Chinua Achebe, 1930 - 2013, Nigerian poet and novelist)

All the projects are Home Stories.  Home is always the World. We are the World.

Suffering Home

The World is suffering. Stand up and make a difference.

Only Home

To be free or to be in prison could happen at the same time.

Neglected Home

In April 2018 I started to reflect the place where I live since I was born. It is with more than thousand pictures the most extensive narrative work I ever have done. What you see here is a small selection of it.

I am telling the merciless story of the desolated neglected small town. It could be anywhere.

I don't show nice cutouts but the whole truth, the whole picture to express my loving and empathetic sadness and consternation about the influence to the people being there.

Therefore I have taken no close-up pictures but I took the pictures with the greatest possible distance to show the relation of the "nice details" to the surrounding, to the context.

Mainly I didn't want to intensify the sad expression of the extremely hurt places  by outer influences.

So I intended taking the images in colour, in the springtime and at best weather conditions.

Nevertheless the images seem to be strange and depressingly and without any life in spite of the blue sky and the sunshine of the springtime.

They are just screaming and they lend to the mute small town a voice:

"See me, Hear me, Heal me!"

Released Home

The very first time you feel the difference to neglection and ignorance you "shall be released" (Bob Dylan).

You recognize the grace of desire.

You feel free.

The aspiration shows you the way to happiness and healing.

To compare and to make the difference visible and noticeable what it means to be released, I took the pictures under the same circumstances as the pictures of the Neglected Home project. For that I started with this project also in springtime - one year later in April 2019.

It could be anywhere also.

Sweet Home

The Vision is real now. Love is real. Music is real. The World is Sound. We are all Artists of Life.
